If you are already a certified human resources professional, then this certification makes you eligible to obtain your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification in 2015. Any current holders of a HR generalist certification, including PHR, SPHR, GPHR, HRBP, HRMP and IPMA-CP, can switch to a SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP in 2015 at no charge by following these three steps:
- Provide proof that your HR generalist certification is in good standing.
- Sign the Code of Ethics that is provided by SHRM.
- Complete a tutorial on HR competencies that is online.
Only existing advanced certification holders or senior certification holders will be eligible for the SHRM-SCP certification. You will not be required to give up your previous certification to obtain this new one. Why Has This Change Been Made? HR for small business is going to improve with this change.
